Evalutation Kit for C5502

Is there a reason you want to use the C5502?  There are newer devices that are lower power and lower priced (TMS320C5504/05/14/15 family).  There is a TMS320C5515 eZdsp USB stick that sells for less than $100 and is a complete development environment (http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/tmdx5515ezdsp.html).

If you must use the C5502, then besides the SD offerring there are partners that work with TI through our Third Party Network (http://focus.ti.com/dsp/docs/thirdparty/catalog/searchcatalog.tsp?DCMP=Third_Party&HQS=Other+OT+3p).  I'm not familar with any other development systems, but if they are available, you should be able to find them through this site.

I am using the C5502 as I need the higher performance (200-300 MHZ) coupled with HPI, EMIF and McBSP. I cannot see any other devices in the C55x range that have these with the price point of the 5502 (~$8US). Please suggest others parts if this is not the case. The C5510A looks appealing until you look at the price! Uisng the C5502 will require external RAM for my application but the processor and the RAM combined will still not reach the price of 5510A / 5509.

Since you say you need 200-300MHz performance then the C5502 is a good choice.  The newer parts which are more power efficient and lower cost don't currently reach the performance level you are looking for.
