Config for DaVinci DVEVM DSP-only emulation

Hi,

I'm trying to run a program via JTAG emulator on the DSP of a DVEVM module (nothing loaded on the ARM).

I've got CCS 3.3 +service release 12, plus the corresponding drivers for my emulator, and the GEL files from Spectrum Digital.

When I try and load my program it says:

"Error 0x000006/-1176 Error during: memory, register, The IM memory is not sreviced by the HW memory system"

I'd guess that at the very least my memory map isn't setup right. Does a sample memmory map/project exist anywhere?

In fact the reason I ask is that I want to know can the DaVinci dualcore SoC operate without any operating system on the ARM (ie. just running a DSP program loaded from flash), with just a few lines of config code booted into the ARM?

How are you taking the DSP out of reset to allow CCS to connect to DSP? Normally you would do this w/ a GEL file (which also sets up memory map) such as the one attached.

You would first use the GEL file to connect to ARM, then run all the macros under GEL CCS menu from the bottom-up. Then, you should be able to connect to DSP and run your program.

Wow, sounds great. We've moved on from trying that now and are going through Arm/Linux. Thanks though, I'll keep that GEL file just in case.
