Dear Champs,

Is there any limitation in the number of SPI flash memory attached and it it possible to attach 3 x SPI flash memory?

Due to flash memory size limitation and hard to find out large memory size in SPI flash memory, my customer wants to attach 2 more SPI flash memories in addition to 1 x QSPI flash memory in K2G, and independent functions will be allocated in each SPI flash memory.

Could you please let me know your idea if there is any limitation to attach 2 x SPI flash memories and 1 x QSPI flash memory to K2G?

    Hi,

    See Section 11.16.1 SPI Overview of the device overview:

     "There are four separate SPI modules (SPI0, SPI1, SPI2, and SPI3) in the device (see Figure 11-1281). All these four modules support up to two external devices (two chip selects) and are able to work as both master and slave. The SPI module allows multiple programmable chip-selects. It is normally used for communication between the device and external peripherals. Typical applications include interface to external I/O or peripheral expansion via devices such as shift registers, display drivers, SPI EEPROMS, and analog-to-digital converters. The SPI module may be used to connect to serial flash memory devices for booting."

    So you can connect up to two slaves on each SPI module, this means that it is possible to have what you need 2 x SPI flash memories and 1 x QSPI flash memory to K2G.
