AM5728: Login ID and password

Hi,

Recently I purchased a AM572X EVM. I switched ON it. I tried to communicate with it through USB to serial cable, from my host PC(through putty). But it is asking to enter user id and password. What user id and password I need to give initially?

After running ./setup.sh, I tried to communicate to it with using the command

sudo minicom -D /dev/ttyUSB1

Then also it is asking for a password.

Please inform the user id and paswword for the board.

Hello,

If I understand your question right could you try with:
login: root
password : without password just press enter?

Hello,

The above command is how to login to the board.
But if you are asking about the password when you execute this command on the Linux PC:
sudo minicom -D /dev/ttyUSB1
you should enter your user's password.

Hi Margarita,

I used root as user id and for password, I just press Enter key. But then it is showing "Login incorrect" as shown in attached file.

Could you confirm that for :
Login: root
Password: you just hit enter when you are prompted for password.

Hi Margarita,

Sorry!

I have already worked on this board, and at that time, I setup a password for root with passwd command.
Now I could recollect that password.

I was working on this card after a few weeks break. That is why I forgot that.

For a new board, or a fresh sd card image, it will not prompt for password. We just need to enter root as the user ID.

Hello,

I am glad that this issue is solved.
Just for information in your Rootfs there is a folder /etc/. In this folder you could find file 'passwd'.
