Is boot process performed on warm reset for C6474?

Hi,

In the sequence of POR# reset, the C6474 Data sheet states that "The device is now out of reset and device execution begins as dictated by the selected boot mode", but the last step of warm reset is "After device initialization is complete, the RESETSTAT pin is de-asserted (driven high)."

Does this mean that boot sequence is not performed on warm reset?

Thanks,

Amit

  • Under the section titled Boot Sequence, it says "The boot sequence is started automatically after each power-on reset, warm reset, and system reset."

The datasheet could be a bit more clear by including the statement you quoted in both the Warm Reset and System Reset section. I noticed that the System Reset section does not explicitly tell you that RESETSTAT will go back high when the initialization is complete. But it does. And the boot sequence is performed for all three of these.
