DM365 & RTL8201E

Hi,

Has anyone used DM365 with RTL8201E successfully? My customer met unstable problem on ethernet.

What we need to change on HW side compared with the phy used on DM365 EVM (KS8001)?

We found in the MDIO timing of RTL8201E, MDIO Valid from MDC Rising edge is min 0, max 300 ns. Does this will cause problem?

For KS8001, it only provides the typical value of MDC to MDIO Valid (MDIO as output) which is 222ns.

Chris,

Have you looked into any of the other DM365 reference designs to see which PHYs may have been used on those boards? You might want to look at the Appro and UDWorks DM365-based offerings as well as those of Leopard Imaging.

Jeff,

Thanks. I just checked the phy used on DM365 IPNC and it has similar MDIO output timing as RTL8201E, We will check on HW side.

Can you offer any more information about the instability of the KS8001? I'm sure it would be of interest to everyone here.
