Linux/DM3730: maximum serial baud rate

Hello,

I try to find the maximum baud rate of serial port in TRM , but couldn't find it.

1. What the maximum baud rate ? There is a plan to use dm3730 with 3.6M, yet I am not sure if it is feasible. and even if it is - how should it be tested ?

2. Can the interface be configured according to the device that is used, i.e. detect rate and change rate accordingly ?

Thank you!

  • Hi Ran,

The maximum UART baud rate supported by DM3730 is 3.6 Mbps. For details check TRM Table 19-1. UART Mode Baud Rates, Divisor Values, and Error Rates.
The UART configuration can be changed on the go (including baud rate). It is described in TRM section 19.5.1.1.3 Protocol, Baud Rate, and Interrupt Settings.
Auto detection of the baud rate of the device connected on the DM3730 UART is not supported.
