Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3715

The AM3715 processor has a lot of connections on it, many of which I do not need for my application. A lot of these connections are for power. I am trying to minimize power consumption, so I would like to know if it's possible to just leave these power connections unconnected. Thank you.

Hi Paul,

Please refer "If not used " section at the bottom of schematic checklist (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM37x/DM37x_Schematic_Checklist) for the recommended power pads termination for unused function.

Does that list of "unused" power connectors include all the ones that I might not use? So anything not on that list needs to be powered (even though most of them say they need to be powered...).

Yes, anything not on that list needs to be powered. Even though most of the power supplies need to be powered, AM37x has multiple power domains inside device and they can be turned off when they are not required in your application. The power domains available in AM37x is shown in "Figure 3-18. Device Power Domains" of AM37x technical reference manual (SPRUGN4).
