TMDSEVM572X: Camera out of order

Hi,

I bought a TI AM5728 EVM (TMDSEVM572X) and the module camera both the 4/24/2017.

From the beginning, when I used the main board and pluged the camera on it, we found some problem : sometimes the camera is recognize by the system and sometimes it"s not recognize.

We have updated the software as requested by the support : we had update the linux to the last stable 4.10.17 version and update Gstreamer 1.0 verion 1.10.x

So the camera still work at part time.

When the the camera is work and unfortunatly when we touch lightly the camera, then it will stop working and the system freeze. We have to reboot the system.

It's seems the problem come from the connector.

How can I do to resolv the issue ?

Is it possible to change the items ?

We can not work on our project with, so I bought an another item the 5/29/2017.

Hi,

The camera module must be secured to the connector by the screws. This issue is usually observed when the camera module is just plugged in.

Hi,

We have try to use the camera with screws, and do test with and without screws. So the issue is the same.
The camera work only if the plug in it 's in a ideal position. (with fixed screws )
So when we use the display touch, the camera will do not work because the connertor meet a light vibration.

Its not easy to work with.

If you suspect there is some defect in your EVM you should contact the vendor from whom you bought the kit.

The camera sensor assembly attaches to the camera module via a very small surface mount connector. We have seen cases where this connector is not seated properly. Please make sure this connector is seated properly.

HI,

We also test the miniature SMT connector attached to the camera to PCB.

Its mounted is correct.

I think, the issue come from the item.

I not lucky enough to draw a winning number with this evm

Mami,

if you have reasons to believe you got a board with defect, please work with the company you bought it from (either a distributor or TI Store) and start the RMA process.
