66AK2E05: NETCP initialization procedure in u-boot

I am trying to initialize the NETCP on a 66AK2E05 for a 1 GB configuration on port 0 on a custom circuit board.  I need to configure it in the same manner as is done in u-boot on the K2E-EVM.  However, it is very difficult and error prone to extract the required initialization procedures and sequencing from the u-boot code.  Would someone who is familiar with the u-boot process for initializing the ethernet on the K2E-EVM please provide a clear description for configuring NETCP that is easier to follow?  Thank you!
