DM388: CSK: how to support frame buffer

Hi Chris,

When you say failed, what failed? Isn't it building? or it fails to insert in the kernel?

Please note that this module requires firmware to be running on M3. This Frame Buffer driver will not work without firmware on M3. So please load this firmware first and then try to insert this module.

we are the customer which chris mentioned,thanks for you quick replay;
we want to use Qt on TMDSCSK388 DM38x Camera Starter Kit,but can't find the FB Device in the kernel.
There is no ti81xx_fb driver in kernel source code.
so we search the RDK and found a driver at ipnc_rdk-3.9.1/Source/ipnc_rdk/ipnc_mcfw/mcfw/src_linux/kernel_modules/ti816x_fb
but fail to build it :
kernel_modules/ti816x_fb/fbpriv.h:33:25: fatal error: ti81xx-vpss.h: No such file or directory

It seems that this kernel do not support DM388 FBDev yet,is there any resource or patch to solve this problem?

If time permits, you can wait for next official release from TI with FB support (or may be a patch).
Right now I don't have any idea on the timelines.
