Starterware/AM3351: CCS GNU compiler same as Linaro GCC?

if select GNU compiler in CCS as below for sitara starterware project, is it same as Linaro GCC compiler?

I saw the gcc-arm-none-eabi-4_7-2012q4 under CCSV5. the name similar as Linaro tool chain I install separately: C:\ti\linaro\4.7_2012q4

if it is same, then can I select the GNU gcc compiler in CCS project, no need to compile with gcc under cygwin anymore?

that is correct the GNU GCC compiler is the Linaro GCC compiler. Later versions of the CCS, have this explicitly specified in the project creation as specified below. You don`t need to compile under cygwin . check the screenshots in the links below which describes genration of CCS projects using Linaro compiler:

Also, this can be used with RTOS projects:
