Please let me know whether Marvell's 88E1512 Ethernet PHY is supported in 66AK2H14 devices.

Hi Madhu,

The device itself should support this phy. However, you may need to modify the source code if you use RTOS.

Madhu,

We do not qualify Ethernet PHYs from 3rd party vendors. The SGMII ports and the MDIO ports on the 66AK2H14 are compliant with the relevant industry standards. Sample code is provided to implement the 88E1512 with 66AK2H14 on the EVM. There may need to be implementation changes to implement the 88E1514 on your board based on the unique features of this PHY. You will need to review the documentation from the PHY manufacturer to complete this implementation.

Thanks for your reply.

From your last reply, I understood that:
In 66AK2H14 EVM, 88E1111 PHY is used; but a sample code is provided to implement 88E1512 also.
So If we are using 88E1512, there will not be any code change and the documentation review from PHY vendor is not necessary.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Madhu,

We used the 88E1111 on the 66AK2H14 EVM (and many others) and we used the 88E1514 on the 66AK2E05 EVM. The sample code provided within the ProcSDK to support these Ethernet PHYs should be sufficient for your needs. However, the customer needs to take responsibility for their product implementation. TI cannot guarantee functionality for 3rd party devices.

Could you please let me know if any of your customers have tried using 88E1512 with keystone II devices and faced any functional issues?

Also, I would like to know whether we can get support from TI if we face any issues during development using ProcSDK.

Madhu,

I am not aware of anyone using the 88E1512. However, it is a sister device to the 88E1514. It should work nearly the same.

Of course we will support your design. That is the purpose of the E2E forum.
