Linux/AM3358: RS485 Driver

Hello!

I want to use RS485 on TI sitara AM335x. I have been reading previous post and I am not very sure about the driver to be used for this purpose. Does 8250 omap driver really (and fully) support RS485? Is it better to use the previous omap_serial driver?

Thank you for your fast repply.

I'm a little be confused because in previous post It is explicity said that this driver does not work for rs485 (others said that it can be used for this task). I do not really know if these problems have been solved or not.

"I certainly understand wanting to update our serial drivers, however, the fact that the 8250 driver does not support RS-485 is a major limitation. I just spent about 8 hours trying to debug why my RS-485 port worked fine until I updated to the latest 2.00.01.07 kernel. Turns out I had to disable the 8250 device driver platform and enable the old omap_serial device drivers in the kernel config. I'm now up and running."
