AM5728: L3 interconnect operating frequency

Hello, TI Experts,

Our customer sent us a question about the L3 interconnect operation frequency of AM5728.

We found related description in the TRM(SPRUHZ6i) as below;

- Table 3-457. CM_CLKSEL_CORE said

CLKSEL_L3 Selects L3 interconnect clock

0x0: L3_CLK is CORE_CLK divided by 1

0x1: L3_CLK is CORE_CLK divided by 2

- Table 3-36. Internal Clock Sources said

CORE_CLK = 532 MHz

Question:

The operation frequency of L3 interconnect can be selected 532MHz or 266MHz.

Is this understanding correct?

Please refer to the GEL file provided for any of the AM57xx TI Evaluation platforms. CORE_CLK is usually set to 532 MHz and
L3 clock = CORE CLK /2;
L4 clock = L3 clock /2;

As per the Table 5-8 datasheet, the max frequency for L3_CLK is 266 MHz for all OPPs. The dividers should be used to set the system and peripheral clocks within datasheet limits in section 5.5.2. Hence Setting L3 clock to 532MHz is not a valid setting.
