EVMFlash - not connecting to target

I'm trying to reflash my OMAP EVM MAIN BOARD REV G, but am having trouble with the EVMFlash3530_v2.0 utility. After I click Download and power on the board, I only get an error message titled "EVMFlash" that states "Failed to connect to target". I recently tried to put Android on the board before deciding to go with Windows CE, so I'm not sure if I messed something up in the environment variables that is causing this to fail. I just want to put the original NAND flash back on so I can start from scratch.

Also, I see a place on the EVMFlash tool for DEBUG, but I'm not sure how to look at debug output. Maybe since it's not connecting there is no debug file yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Check the instructions in the following Wiki:

The instructions here assume that you have an SD card and the basic system binaries that you want to flash to the board.

I attempted to use the new flashing tool with the following parameters set:

Target: (35xx) Micron 512Mb 166MHz
NAND
UART, port 1
Download, Offset: 0x00000000
Image selection - I tried a TIEVM3530-nand.raw that came with Visual Studio solution and the u-boot.bin in the test_data folder. I'm not really sure what is supposed to go here.

Neither image worked and I believe this to be the correct setup. The following is the output I received:

¯ Looking for device (omap com1)

¯ Please turn off device, then turn it on again

¯ Awaiting ASIC id

¯ Unable to read ASIC id. Searched 32 bytes of data - no ASIC ID start

Console program failed, exit code: 2

For the time being, I will attempt to use the solution gkturner provided.

Brandon,

As mentioned in the user guide, ASIC ID is spit out of UART3. Please make sure you are connected to the right port. Also, confirm your switch settings are as per the user guide.
