TDA2SX: Does TDA2X Series Processors Support 10 Camera In At Same Time

Part Number: TDA2SX

We're Selecting A Powerful Chip For ADAS AVM 360 Surround View Project. We Note TDA3 / TDAECO / TDA2X Seems Considerable Devices. After Survey For Couples Of Days By Studying Datasheet And Parameter Filter We Finally Selected The TDASX Due To Large Numbers Of Camera System Design Purpose. Today We Found It Is Kindly Different From Our Thought. In Our Mind We Would Have Thought TDA2X Can Support Up To 10 Cameras Input In The Meantime. But From Pinout Table Some Of Required Parallel Input Pins Will Be Occupied By The Others. Now The Problems Are Up Here:

Can The Processor Really Support 10 Cameras?

We Mean In Our Problem How Many Can It Allow To Let In Simultaneously?

What Is The Design Purpose Of Built-In VIPs Exactly? To Switch 10 Cameras And Pipeline Video Queue?

  • Hi,

I have forwarded your question to ISS expert.

  • Hi Bright Wang,

TDAxx class of devices provide multiple options to receive (multiple channels of) video. On TDA2x, as you have rightly noted, VIP is used to receive multiple channels video.

It's possible to receive 10 channels of video simultaneously, but some of the other interface functionality would be lost/reduced. As the number of pins on the SoC are limited and are multiplexed to provide different interfacing options.

Based on the product needs / description of product, we could analyze the feasibility and suggest options. Could i request you to talk the TI FAE supporting you?
