Is mainline Linux having built-in driver for WL1837 Chip over SDIO? If so, from which kernel version is it being supported from?
Will the driver support simultaneous STA mode and AP mode functioning ?

Hi Abin,

Yes, mainline Linux has support for WL18xx chip family (including WL1837). WL18xx chip family support is added in Linux kernel v3.6 but in later version are added many patches. Therefore I recommend Linux kernel v4.4.x and later.
You can trace WL18xx driver in various kernel versions at:

Thank you Tsvetolin for the clarification.

We now believe WL1835MOD might be more cost effective. Could you please confirm if the same driver can be used for WL1835 as well?

Yes, the same driver is applicable for the whole WL18xx family including WL1835MOD.
