Hi,

I got Zoom OMAP L138 eXperimenter Kit from Logic PD. I have installed all the software and setup the development environment as per the below links.

In my installation directory, "OMAP-L138_arm_1_00_00_11", I have the below folders:

(1) DaVinci-PSP-SDK-03.20.00.11

(2) pspdrivers_01_30_01

Initially, I got confused why there are 2 PSP folders. After I read some documentation, it seems to me "DaVinci-PSP-SDK-03.20.00.11" is PSP for Linux at the ARM side, whereas "pspdrivers_01_30_01" is PSP for DSPBIOS at the DSP side.

Is this correct ?

I notice that there is a GPIO driver in DSP PSP but I don't see this driver in ARM PSP (DaVinci PSP) ?

Anyway, I can run the gpio_test.ko provided in DaVinci PSP. Thus, make me wondering if the GPIO driver has been already built into the Linux kernel ?

2nd question, where can I find the documentation for GPIO driver API ? I see below functions in gpio_test.c, I guess there are more API ... But, just don't know where to find them.

gpio_direction_input()

gpio_get_value()

3rd question, can I say that GPIO driver does not follow the usual design of Linux driver ? I mean to let the application to use standard API (open, read, write, close) to access the driver through a virtual file name.

Found the answer for the 1st question when I try to configure Linux Kernel using make menuconfig. The GPIO driver is indeed built into the kernel.

Found the documentation for the GPIO driver API as well in the Linux source tree.

Now, is just a matter how to use the GPIO driver in the application (user space).
