Availability / Stock of C5505 or C5515 parts for 2010 ??

Hi All,

I guess it's more of a question directed at the TI sales reps/apps engineers, but we have had local reports of unavailability of the TMS320C5505 and TMS320C5515 parts (commercial temp. option) in production quantities (say > 1000) due to unforseen delays. Is this true ? Is there a general lack of availability of say 1000/anum of these parts, and if this is the case is there an expected date for full availability of these TI DSPS before fourth quarter 2010 ?

At the moment we have been wondering if it will be possible to continue since only the VC5505s have been offered immediately, but they are superseded and we'd prefer to use the new parts in our PCB revision, as recommended by TI.

Could somebody confirm if this is an issue, or if we should simply obtain better advice from another rep from another distributor ?? (Unfortunately many are on holidays during this busy period for us) !

    There's a glitch in the system causing 0 inventory in on the web. Pl contact me at gurrapu@ti.com and I can have one of our regional BDMS/Disty get in touch and help you with ordering the parts. There's no issue with delivering VC5504/05/14/15 or C5504/05/14/15.

    Hi Srik, Steve,

     

    I emailed you both a couple of days a go regarding TMS310C5515 availability but did not receive anything back from anyone yet.

    Is the TMS320C5515 available on distributors?

    R u in the same company as Martin? If so, I believe we've responded with some local contacts.

    If not,  pl send me a private email and I'll link you to the right people. Again, this is a glitch that we'r fixing. We'r shipping these devices through Disty already in volume so you should be able to get these from Disty.,

    We were due C5505 devices from Mouser in July and EBV in August, the Mouser shipment date is moved back regularly and is now at September 10th, though I wouldn't be surprised if this slips again, and EBV have no confirmed delivery for us now.  Our production has ground to a halt.

    Not impressed.

    Ed,

    Our local sales team should be able to help expedite or give an accurate FCST for the deliveries. I've connected couple of people in this thread to the local sales team already.

    If you can please send me an email with your region/company name..etc,  I'll do the same and we can establish a direct link to the factory so we take appropriate steps to meet your needs. We are seeing a huge upside in C5000 processors, especially in the new ultra low power devices so there could be a lot of priority scheduling happening in the supply chain.

    For initial proto phase, we've tried to simplify the problem by offering free samples. There are many flavors of the C5504/05/14/15 so we cannot afford to have free samples for all of them but some of these flavors are enough for protos. If you can let us know which stage you'r at, I'm sure we'll be able to help.
