CCS/AM4378: PDK debug option

Hi,

I'm trying to debug step-by-step C code, but when I come in source under PDK folder (for example Board_ini()) steps start jumping around.
CSS project option is -O0 -g.
How i change debug/optimization option for PDK?

Hi,

For your application source code, you can control the debug option like "-O0 -g" via CCS. For those linked libraries, they are optimized release libraries so the source code lines may not match the assmbly code lines. If you want to debug into it, you may need to rebuild the libraries with your debug option in the build flag which is in pdk_am437x_1_0_6\packages\ti\build\makerules\rules_a9.mk:

ifeq ($(BUILD_PROFILE_$(CORE)), debug)
CFLAGS_INTERNAL += -D_DEBUG_=1
LNKFLAGS_INTERNAL_BUILD_PROFILE =
endif
ifeq ($(BUILD_PROFILE_$(CORE)), release)
CFLAGS_INTERNAL += -O2 -s -DNDEBUG
LNKFLAGS_INTERNAL_BUILD_PROFILE = -O2
endif
