about DM365 codecs issue

Hi All,

Can DM365 decode any format (Mpeg4, H.264) video clips unlike DM355 can only decode videos what it is encoded by DM355? What are the free DM365 codecs? What is the newest status of DM365 codecs? Thanks a lot.

    I just checked that link you provided. I have some questions about them in the following.

    A. What is the meaning of "H264 HP closed decod" and "MPEG4 SP closed decode"?

    B.Could you please explain me more about what the GA Release Schedule is (like MPEG4 SP universal decode - Sept 2009 etcs)? It means the current DM365 can not support H.264/MPEG4 universal decode?

        Util Sept 2009 or later, DM365 will support them? If I buy a DM365 EVM board now, how to upgrade my EVM board to support those new functions in GA Release Schedule? They only are software SDK update?

    C.I checked the DM365 EVM hardware desgin, i found that CPLD existed in the design. Could you please show me what functions CPLD does on DM365 EVM board? I can remove CPLD module on my custom design?

    D. Could you please tell me what the maximum limit size of VPBE output resolution is?

    [Vinay] closed decode means - it can decode only those streams which are encoded using the same chip solution.

    [Vinay] Current decoder would still support universal decoding with less performance though.
