Linux/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: Building Arago Linux image for BeagleBone Black

1. We are trying to build Arago Linux image for BeagleBone Black from scratch. We have with the SDK (ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-02.00.00.00). But we are unable to find the steps to build the image to be flashed on BeagleBone Black through SD Card.

2. We have a prebuilt Arago Linux image for BeagleBone Black which is running fine. We just need to replace the zImage and am335x-boneblack.dtb with new ones, but we are unable to do so as the modified files are not getting flashed on the board.

Hello Yordan,

We have followed the steps mentioned in processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_Building_The_SDK

But the final output we got is as follows

/opt/ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-02.00.00.00/tisdk/build/arago-tmp-external-linaro-toolchain/deploy/images/am335x-evm

-rw-r--r-- 1 iotpune iotpune 1941188043 Jul 7 11:06 processor-sdk-linux-image-am335x-evm-20170707052448.rootfs.tar.gz

But this is having all sdk contents which we already installed from .bin file which we downloaded from the sitara linux website.

What we are trying to get is the almost 4GB size .img file which we can flash on the SD Card with custom zImage and dtb file.

Hi,

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. I thought you wanted to rebuild Yocto.
Anyway, you can copy your custom zImage & dtb in the /boot folder of your filesystem (you have it in the sources processor-sdk-linux-image-am335x-evm-20170707052448.rootfs.tar.gz). Of course you first need to untar the fielsystem in a custom location so you can modify the /boot folder. Then you can try & use the following procedure to create the .img file, containing the am335x-evm-20170707052448.rootfs with your custom kernel & dtb:
sourceforge.net/.../

Note that you will have to format the empty img file with ext3/4.

We want to create a custom boot-able image for Beaglebone Black, which we want to flash in EMMC through SD Card.
