Hi,

I am using vision sdk version 2.12. And below is my usecase,

Capture -> Select -> VPE_HD -> Merge

Merge -> Encode -> IPCIn(A15) -> DefLink_vsdkbuf (A15)

Select -> VPE_D1 -> Merge

I am facing problem, while creating encoder with different channel resolutions(HD and D1). Below is the error message,

[HOST] [IPU2 ] 65.012810 s: Assertion @ Line: 1740 in links_ipu/iva/iva_enc/encLink_common.c: chId == pReqObj->InFrameList.buffers[i]->chNum : failed !!!"

Is it possible to encode different resolutions?

yes, is it possible to encode multiple channel input with different resolutions. This has been supported in VSDK.

I guess your issue is that the channel numbers of input and output buffers are not matching, for a given channel, both below channel IDs should match, pleas check

chId = pReqObj->OutBuf->chNum;

pReqObj->InFrameList.buffers[i]->chNum

What could be the reason for this? Because sometimes channels getting created properly.

Hello

if it works randomly then it could be an issue with un-initialization, if the stray value in memory is 0 (channel num), then could work

Hi Shiju,

Still I'm getting this issue randomly. I have checked "links_ipu/iva/iva_enc/encLink_common.c", in that "EncLink_codecProcessTskFxn" function after this function call,
"status = Utils_queGet(&pObj->encProcessTsk[tskId].processQue,(Ptr *) & pReqObj, 1, BSP_OSAL_WAIT_FOREVER);"

The "pReqObj->InFrameList.buffers[0]->chNum" & "pReqObj->OutBuf->chNum" are not equal sometimes. Because of this, it is failing.

Any suggestion?

i do not expect this issue and not noticed any similar issue till date from any customer.
one suggestion on the chain creation
instead of
Capture -> Select -> VPE_HD -> Merge
Merge -> Encode -> IPCIn(A15) -> DefLink_vsdkbuf (A15)
Select -> VPE_D1 -> Merge

modify to
Capture -> Select -> VPE_HD -> Merge
Select -> VPE_D1 -> Merge
Merge -> Encode -> IPCIn(A15) -> DefLink_vsdkbuf (A15)

Hi Shiju,

I have modified "outQueInfo->numAllocPools " to "1" in "src/links_ipu/iva/iva_enc/encLink_common.c". Now it is working fine.

outQueInfo->numAllocPools " to be set to 1, if you have only one resolution. one pool each for each resolution
