TMS320DM8168: Simultaneous H.264 encoding support in Linux

Hi,

We are looking for a solution where we needs to encode the incoming HD videos(From FPGA via PCIe) using H.264 encoders.

We know that DM8168 supports three simultaneous H.264 encoding of HD videos, but we would like to whether three simultaneous H.264 encoding of HD videos are possible using Linux?

or let us know how it is tested to support this feature of simultaneous encoding.

Can you please tell me which software SDK are you using?

Multi channel encoding is supported in H264 Encoder. Can you let me know what exactly are you looking at? Please look into Encoder data sheet for more details.

Hi Prashanth,

We are planning to use Linux so we are using ezsdk_dm816x-evm_5_05_02_00 for DM8168.
We are looking for 3 simultaneous H.264 encoding of input frames of 1400X1050@30 resolution.

Hi Mithun,
3 simultaneous 1080p@30 is not possible. But 3, 1400x1050@30 should be possible. Please refer the Encoder user guide for more details and exact number.
