Hi,

I have designed the custom board using AM3354. Boot media i had set and NAND.

i m using TH58NVG4S0HTAK0 nand device.

Please let me know can i boot from this nand.

Hi Biser,

Device ID of TH58NVG4S0HTAK0 matches with the mentioned ID in the TRM of AM3354, But wanted to make sure can it be used for Booting.

Nand (TH58NVG4S0HTAK0 ) details is as below

Capacity: 16 GBIT (2G x 8 BIT)

Organization:

Memory cell array 4352 x 128K x 8 x 4

Page size 4352 bytes

Block size (256K x 16K) bytes

Modes

Read, Reset, Auto Page Program, Auto Block Erase, Status Read, Page Copy,

Multi Page Program, Multi Block Erase, Multi Page Copy, Multi Page Read

8 bit ECC for each 512Byte

Number of valid blocks

Min 8032 blocks

Max 8192 blocks

Please help on this.

Yes, you should be able to boot from that NAND, using BCH-16 ECC.

Hi Biser,

In the datasheet of TH58NVG4S0HTAK0, its mentioned as 8 bit ECC is required, but you had mentioned it can be used using BCH-16ECC. Can you please provide more details on this.

Your page size is 4096 bytes with 256 bytes spare area. AM335x ROM code will expect BCH-16 from that page size.
