Linux/AM5728: GP EVM camera issue

Hi all,

i have two camera module here,one is included in the box with the EVM board ,and another is a new one which i bought recently and got today. The old one can't be detected by the EVM board,i use the console command shows in the below picture, i also try several times to make sure that camera board is seated properly in the connector slot,so i thought it may be a hardware problem and bought the new camera module and try the same operation like the old one ,however,it can't be detected either.So is there some dts or dtsi files need to be edit or other operation need to be done before the camera module can be detected? I don't change any dts or dtsi file used. I am confused,the sdk i used is ti-processor-sdk-linux-am57xx-evm-03.03.00.04.

I'm wondering if someone can provide more insight for me on this! Thanks in advance!

P.S. two camera's pics and the dts file setting are showing below(the top one is new and bottom one is old ):

it that camera board equals mt9t111,or it is actually other camera, i just use the Processor SDK without any change,and i cannot detect any camera device.

Hi Boycchi,

New sensor board is ov10635. Please use PLSDK version 4.00.00.04 and use devicetree-zImage-am57xx-evm-reva3-cam-ov10635.dtb as dtb file.

Hi, Manisha,

My board has same issue for the camera board(mt9t11) too. Once(old SDK version) action(include some Matrix samples) of the camera no problem, but last few version is always couldn't detect the camera.

I 'm afraid there is something wrong with the device tree of the last few versions.

Thanks for your information and my new camera board(ov10635) works well.Did u use devicetree-zImage-am57xx-evm-reva3-cam-mt9t111.dtb as dtb file?

Hi!

I'm not sure which version is can detect the camera module. But I remember that user generated images are different from the pre-build images, Some can detect ans some cannot.

At first I thought there is someting wrong with the camera module,but It running well in some SDK versions, Although I don't remeber which version.

Are you able to sure that latest SDK version(4.0.0.4) on TMDSEVM572 board and the camera module is running normal?

PLSDK version 4.04 had known issue (PLSDK-1426) with camera functionality. The bug got introduced in this particular version of PLSDK and wasn't there before. The issue is documented in release notes. The bug is now identified and fixed. Release notes page is updated with details to download the patch.
