Linux/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X: Linux/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

We are using AM437X processor with Parallel NOR flash memory on our product and occasionally we see read issues. Could you please help on how to configure our NOR flash memory part correctly?

Thanks,

Swapna

  • Hi Swapna,

Could you give more details about your issue and environment:
What kind of NOR flash chips you are using (manufacture and model)?
Could you share your NOR flash configuration?
How you are reproducing the issue?

  • Hi Tsvetolin ,

Could you give more details about your issue and environment:
We are using Micron Parallel NOR Flash PC28F00BM29EWHA and MT41K512M16HA-125IT DDR3 external memories interfaced to AM4376BZDNA100.

We have two images in external NOR flash.
    "regular image" and "backupimage"

we are trying to copy backupimage into regular image partition and as a part of this process we first validate whether the backup image is Good and occasionally our flash crc check fails ( CRC check is just sum of payload information ).

We read flash in chunks of 64KB in a buffer and then perform the checksum and repeat this process until all payload information is read. we compare the calculated checksum with known good checksum and this check is failing.

What kind of NOR flash chips you are using (manufacture and model)?
Micron Parallel NOR Flash PC28F00BM29EWHA and MT41K512M16HA-125IT DDR3

Could you share your NOR flash configuration?
    2048 blocks of 64KW

We are seeing this occasionally so wanted to check if this is related to timing does TI have any recommendations for the parts mentioned above ?

    Thanks,
    Swapna
  • Any info or pointers to the memory timing recommendations ?

    Thanks,

    Swapna
