TDA2x IPU2

Hi,

which version of VisonSDK you use? Also is it BIOS only or Linux+BIOS version?

In general here is how IPU is used:
For VisionSDK BIOS (all core run Bios) - Ipu1-0 is the primary IPU core (VIP + VPE, DSS all on ipu1-0). IPU2 enablement can be optional.
For VisionSDK BIOS + Linux (Linux on A15 & Bios on rest of the cores) - IPU2 is the primary IPU core (VIP + VPE, DSS all on ipu2). IPU1 is not supported in this case.

My Vision SDK version is 2.9.1.0, and I use BIOS only.
According to the technical reference manual, IPU2 is the same as IPU1, which means it also have two cortex-M4 cores. So I guess one core is for IVA support and the other is available for users to do their own application. Is it correct ?

There is no impact on other core.You can move IVA processing to any of IPU cores: IPU1_0, IPU1_1, IPU2_0 or IPU2_1.

You need to make sure that you manage the shared resources i.e. Unicache, AMMU, etc. accordingly on both cores of individual IPU subsytem (IPU1 subsytem or IPU2 subsystem).

By default, which core is IVA processing on ?
If I only start my own processing in IPU2_main() and do nothing else, is that OK ?
