capture problem of dm6467T

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP7002

I'm using dm6467T and dvsdk is 3.1 version. If I use a dvd-player as  a video source, the encodedecode demo runs well. However, if i use  a CCD camera as a video source, then there is an error:

root@dm6467t-evm:/mnt/dvsdk/dm6467# ./encodedecode

Encodedecode demo started.

vpif_capture vpif_capture: Error getting the standard info

Error: Failed to create capture device, 720P component input connected?

Both of the two video sources are  720p.

  • Hi,

It looks like TVP7002 is detecting the mode, which is not supported by VPIF driver. If you look into TVP7002 driver, it supports many modes. But all of them are not supported by the VPIF driver. i think your ccd camera source is outputting 720p at 50hz not at 60Hz. Both of these modes are supported in the TVP7002 but only 7270P@60Hz is supported in VPIF capture driver. can you please check the camera by connecting it to some tv which can display mode it is receiving?

    Thanks,

  • Hi,Brijesh Jadav

The HD camera I use can be chosen to output either 720p@50HZ and   720P@60HZ.

Now the problem is that if dm6467T uses dvsdk3.1 and linux 2.6.32 , the capture device cannot detect either of the modes.

Then I try to use montavista 5.0 and dvsdk2.0 on the dm6467T, then capture device can detect  720p@50HZ. 720P@60HZ cannot be detected.

The output of the dvd player  can always be detected. According to the osd of the dm6467T, the output of the dvd palyer is 720p@50HZ.

  • Hi,

I don't think i fully got it. What i understood is dm6467t does not detect any mode for dvsdk 3.1 release, but it does detect 720p@50Hz on dvsdk 2.0.  Can you try connecting your output to tv and see if tv detects both of these modes correctly and shows detected mode?

    Thanks,

  • Hi,Brijesh Jadav

    Thanks for your reply.

I've connected the hd camera to a hd monitor as you said. The hd monitor can detect both 720p@50HZ and 720p@60HZ.

I think there's something misunderstood. I list the occasions in the table below and hope it will help you understand my problem.

    input source\dvsdk tool dvsdk3.1 dvsdk2.0
HD player 720p@50HZ detected 720p@50HZ detected
HD camera none of the modes detected 720p@50HZ detected
