AM4376: Conversion and displaying of of 14-bit raw image

Hi,

I have 14-bit grayscale raw image data which I need to convert to 8bit and display it on LCD.
LCD has the 24bit format (8 bit for each of R, G and B). So I need to convert the raw bits to 8 bits. I have interfaces the LCD with the processor.
Please let me know how should I implement this.

Are you referring the IDE software tool..?? I am using Code Composer Studio to write the code for processor.

No, I am asking what OS you are running on the device - Linux or RTOS?

Its a Linux OS on the custom board with AM4376 processor interfaced with LCD.

DSS can not handle 14 bit grey scale image to 8 bit conversion. This needs to be handled by software in ARM.

Instead of writing that converted 8 bit value three times to R, G and B bytes for each pixel, you could only write it to, say, R, and leave G and B untouched. Then, possibly DSS color-phase-rotation can be used to duplicate the R channel to G and B on DSS output. That, of course, will mess up any "normal" planes you would have on the screen.

The color phase rotation feature has recently been added and isn't part of PLSDK 4.00.00.04 release. You can get the patch (commit id c3472e97ade3900ff949dc56a3c000aab8db888f) from git://git.ti.com/ti-linux-kernel/ti-linux-kernel.git
