AM5728: Android SDK performance and documentation

Hello,

I am trying to get the performance numbers for AM5728 running Android Processor SDK (http://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-android/esd/AM57X/latest/index_FDS.html). I am looking at a performance Guide document in similar lines as http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Processor_SDK_Linux_Kernel_Performance_Guide#Graphics_SGX_Driver which is for linux. Is this available? I also would like some information regarding the codecs supported and other features supported on Android on AM5728. Please provide me the links where I can get these information.

We Usually run GLBench and GFXBench for Android.

Measured offscreen numbers:
GLBenchmark 2.5 EGYPT offscreen ETC1 : 3359 frames / 30fps
GLBenchmark 2.5 EGYPT offscreen PVRTC4 : 3333 frames / 29fps
GLBenchmark 2.5 EGYPT offscreen ETC1-565 : 3350 frames / 30fps
GLBenchmark 2.5 EGYPT Fixed timestep offscreen ETC1 : 44133msec / 26fps
GLBenchmark 2.5 EGYPT Offscreen ETC1- Classic- 11200 frames / 100fps

Onscreen numbers depends on the panel resolution.

Thanks for sharing the numbers. It is very helpful.

I am trying to do a comparison of performance of AM5728 running Linux vs Android. I can see that the numbers on Linux is published in http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Processor_SDK_Linux_Kernel_Performance_Guide . Is there a similar link for Android on AM5728? If yes, can you please share the same? Also do you have a ready comparison details of performance between Linux and Android on AM5728?

We do not currently have all of the same performance numbers as readily available for our Android offering.

Once we have a similar page for Android I will come back here and update this post with the link. Until then, do you have any other specific peripherals or subsystems that you are looking to compare for your use case? If so, I can check if we have those specific numbers and post them here.
