DRA718: Can VIP support this video decoder format?

Part Number: DRA718

Hi,

We're going to use video decoder to implement surround view.

The video decoder supports:

  • ITU-R BT.1120 4:2:2 16 bits outputs with embedded sync for any two channels
  • Support BT656 compatible Y-C interleaving out mode per 8-bit VD output channels

The timing diagram is like

  • Hi James,

the first option is possible, VIP can capture BT1120 input with embedded sync on one of the two input channels. As per BT1120, it should be present on both the channels ideally. But it is configurable in VIP.

Second option has problem. VIP supports two channel multiplexed input, but it expects the sync code also to be muxed.

  • Hi Brijesh,

the same question as Jame. Add some description about that. this is a video decoder TP2824 , and manufacturer is Techpoint. they claim this video decoder can support flexible 2 channels multiplexed output. as below description :

How to check if DRA718 can read this kind of video input type?

Besides , do you have any experience about using techpoint's HD-TVi video decoder?

  • Hi,

I am sorry i am not familiar with the techpoint's HD TVI decoder.

It should be possible to capture this multiplexed input as long as this decoder does pixel multiplexing on both the channels, it should do pixel multiplexing even for the sync codes.

    Rgds,
