OMAPL138 overclocking

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138

Hi I'm wondering if the XOMAPL138ZCE silicon rev could be overclocked. I undersatand that in the linux kernel theres a feature to set the clock to 456MHz, but I didn't know if this applies for all revisions.

Thanks;

Jorge

  • Jorge,

    The device must be operated within datasheet parameters.  The 456MHz device will be a specially screened offering that is specifically tested for 456MHz tolerances and requires a higher core voltage.

    Having said that, I believe that there is work being done at the moment to raise the operating ceiling of OMAPL138 to 375MHz at 1.2V.
