Starterware/AM4372: GPIO0 usage

In the GPIO example in starterware, only GPIO banks 1 to 5 are mentioned. What is the correct procedure for using bank 0? I tried writing to the registers for GPIO0 but I keep getting a data access error as these registers seem to be disabled. How is this possible for the GPIO0 registers in the WKUP domain which is supposed to be always on?

I have worked out that I was using the wrong offset address to write to the CM_WKUP_GPIO0_CLKCTRL register. Enabling the clocks in this register then allowed me to access the GPIO0 bank of registers as needed.

Perhaps the starterware code could be updated to include the GPIO0 bank for other users?

Hi Eric,

I am using pdk_am437x_1_0_7. It is a pig to set up and try and compile even the most basic of projects.

Is there an easy guide to using the SDK RTOS you suggest? That works with CCS v7?

Gush,

Processor SDK RTOS covers many devices, for AM437X, the package is pdk_am437x_1_0_7 you already used. It works with CCS 7.1.

It has not been possible for me to use this SDK for any interrupt drive software, the compiled code will not even load on the target hardware. This why I asked for guidance. Also it does not allow use of GPIO0, which is why I suggested an upgrade.

Also, even on the RTOS SDK, none of the examples seem to do anything, the code just appears to start, then stops with no visible results anywhere.

Hi,

If you used the Processor SDK RTOS on AM437x, please following:

To setup and create test projects. Those test projects include all drivers covered including GPIO. The results are printed on UART. The platforms supported are: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_RTOS_Release_Notes

pdk_am437x_1_0_x\packages\ti\starterware\soc\am43xx\am437x\hw_prcm_data.c has the code to enable GPIO0 clock domain.
