I did not get the question. Vout ports are used for the display. what do you mean by configuring VOUT ports for Video output other than display?

Let me put the question in the other way, Configuring display link [sd] and display link [DVO2] will enable SD out and VOUT[0]?

One more Question I want to add is.
Can I create Multiple chains in One Application and can start and Stop them based on the Need. For ex
Capture -> display and Capture->dup->displaySD / HD and Capture->merger->swms->display.. etc.

If yes How to do that ?

In Demo Code there is only one Link Id for Capture link .

Hi Kailash,

Yes there is only 1 link id for Capture link but it can have a max of 4 instances.

As you can have a max of 3 display link so you can run multiple channels but if you want to enable and disable any channel dynamically then this support is not there with the links you have mentioned, but this should be possible, but for that you have to understand mcfw and add such functionality in that link.

Adding to Anuj  reply please go through MCFW user guide section 5.3 that as more information regarding display Link configuration possibilities. Please refer to capture-display usecases which demonstrates enabling HDMI and Composite Video(SD).

Hi Kailash,

Please explore select Link, using this link you will be able to achieve your requirement.
Use "SELECT_LINK_CMD_GET_OUT_QUE_CH_INFO" cmd dynamically to switch between your different chains/pipelines.
Also go through the above guide as mentioned by Vishwanath, it will help you to understand the mcfw.

SwMs support Scaling also or do we need an external scaler. For ex if input is 720p and we want window 0 as 1080p SwMs will do it for us or we need to scale it before providing it to SwMs.

Yes Swms support scaling.I have tried it for downscaling and its able to scale it down to required window size.
But i have not tried it for upscaling but i think it should be possible.
You just need to update winInfo structure properly.

My doubt is because one of the demo "Capture Display MCTNF". There they are making win0 and 1 as 960x1080 and 960x1080 (original input video is 1920x1080 for both channel) after that they are cropping the center 960x1080 of both the input channels before setting it on respective windows before displaying it to windows.

One more thing this is one of the instance of SwMs SYSTEM_SW_MS_SC_INST_VIP0_SC , does it mean software mosaic scaler instance?

And as you suggested I am trying Upscaling In SwMs.

Correct me if I am wrong , This Parameter "UInt32 bypass; /* TRUE/FALSE - Low Cost Scaling/DEI enable disable */ "of "SwMsLink_LayoutWinInfo structure" is responsible for scaling enable/disable in swms?

Hi Kailash,
bypass param is not responsible for enabling or disabling scaling.
If you enable bypass then it will drop the odd fields and create the mosaic by only taking even fields/lines, which will hit your image quality.
So generally that is set as false.

I hope you are able to upscale the frame using Swms Link.
I did not understand what do you mean by vertical and horizontal fitting?

If you mean flipping, it is not support by the display pipeline as such. But you could use other modules or may be sensor to flip the images.

1st one Vertical fit and second one is horizontal fit. This is to maintain aspect ratio of input and output.

Question is : scaler link supports these fittings?

Hi Kailash,

Scaler Link will just take output width and height either in absolute mode or ratio mode.
It can upscale and downscale both.
If you want to maintain the input aspect ratio then you have to give the output width and height in such a way that it will maintain that ratio.
