is there a linux device driver available for the lm3410? i didn't not see one in the lastest srctree under drivers/video/backlight.

Hi Randy,

There is no specific LM3410 Linux driver. LM3410 DIMM pin is managed via Pulse width modulation (PWM) and you should use a standard Linux PWM driver. You can find more details about Linux PWM at:

Cvetolin, thanks much for your response. You were headed in the right direction, but I discovered more information on this yesterday after I posted this question.

This backlight driver is a simple PWM type so I plan on using the generic PWM driver linux/drivers/video/backlight/pwm_bl.c via a change in the menuconfig.
