Hi,

I want to interface temperature sensor ICs with AM4376 I2C pins. I found out this reference link (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Processor_SDK_Linux_I2C_Interface

But the keyword on this link does not provide any guidance. Can some one help with this..? Any reference example code to implement I2C over AM437x will be of great help.

Hi,

Thanks for initiative and forwarding the query. In addition to the above, I have installed Linux SDK on TI Evaluation Board, TMDSEVM437X and will finally test this I2C interface on this board.

The benefit of Linux is that you can be abstracted from the hardware and ignore any specifics to how it works. Working with i2c devices in Linux is the same no matter which processor you use. All you need is to learn how to use i2c in Linux.

There is a set of programs called "i2c-tools" that let you communicate with i2c devices over the command line. Details here: elinux.org/Interfacing_with_I2C_Devices

And if you want to write a C program there are details in that link too. Other ways using python are available too but I'm not familiar with it.

Hi,

I have multiple slave devices interfaced with I2C of processor and each of them have unique address. How can configure their internal register for some specific functions as in 'low power mode enable-disable', 'ADC resolution registers', 'gain settings', etc..?

Each of the register has address which can be called, read and written into as per the requirement and how can I do that..? Any reference link for AM437x processor..?

In AM437x Processor SDK for AM437X GP EVM you can refer to <Processor SDK>/board-support/linux-<version>/drivers/hwmon/lm75.c driver.
