RTOS/66AK2H12: Compiling C++

I just posted a question regarding c++ try/catch but I guess the bugger question is guidelines on compiling/linking c++ classes in general.

I am trying to port some existing c++ code and that code using new and delete as well as calls to the std library, for example std::copy, std:runtime_error(), etc.

The SYS/BIOS UG says: "The functions new and delete are the C++ operators for dynamic memory allocation and deallocation. For TI targets, these operators use malloc() and free()." but I can't seem to get them to link (undefined references).

My application is to run on a ARM15 core.

Hi,

I don't think C++ is supported on TI RTOS. See similar question, where we pointed customers to use the existing RTOS apis (which are written in C):

Can you please pass my question on? The SYS/BIOS clearly indicates that C++ is supported. See sqruex3q.pdf; "SYS/BIOS (TI-RTOS Kernel) v6.46 User's Guide", Section 1.5. (The thread you link says nothing about using C++). Note my application will be running on one of the ARM cores, not the DSP.

I found the following helpful link:

Linking with libstdc++.a, removing both rdimon and nosys, and then adding --specs=rdimon.specs in the "other flags" setting I was able to compile, link and run using c== and new/delete.

Still waiting to hear about using try/catch/throw however....
