Hi,

I'm writing to inquire about the AM3505 processor 4 Bit ECC support on GPMC:

1. When will the software PSP be ready and supported for the above 4-bit ECC?

2. Does the AM3505 support the 4 bit ECC bug fix on silicon revision 1.1?

3. When will the AM3505 silicon revision 1.1 industrial be available?

4. Is it OK to use 4 bit ECC flash while block 0 cannot be replace or skipped as bad block?

5. Does the ROM BOOT support 4 Bit ECC?

The AM3505 Rev 1.1 silicon should be available. This is the AM3505A device.

Hi Brandon,

We consider using NOR flash but we could not see the Software support on AM35x-OMAP35x-PSP-SDK-03.00.01.06.

1. Could you check for us if there is ROM-BOOT support to use Boot from NOR flash on the AM3505?

2. What is the SW effort to implement/porting the NOR flash Driver?

3. Is there any documents on the NOR flash support?

Yes, the ROM does support booting from NOR. The Technical Reference Manual in Chapter 24 discusses the capabilities of the ROM boot capabilities. The terminology of XIP (eXecute In Place) will cover the NOR flash type of boot.
