TMDSEVM437X: EVM not working

Hi,

I have the AM437X EVM. I am booting it with Linux SDK in the memory card which was provided with the board. I am using this since last month but today suddenly the EVM is not getting powered on. I am trying to take its terminal console using 'minicom' scripts and also tried to map its display on browser using its IP which I configured last for it. I ejected the SD card and booted the card again by inserting the same card and pressed its on-board hardware reset push button.

But nothing is working. Can any one suggest how can I switch this on and any advice for troubleshoot...

Hi,

I bought it directly from TI store. And as of right now I am not asking for replacement. May be any troubleshooting suggestions I can try to fix the board and if nothing works then I will claim its replacement.

Board schematics are available here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM437X_EVM_Boards However, TI does not recommend or support customers to try and repair the boards themselves. My best suggestion is to contact the TI store.

Hi,

I configured SD card again with TI SDK from this link ("PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM4376 03_03_00_04" - AM437x Linux SDK Essential: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html ) for the memory card version and booted the EVM again. Its has started working but the touch interface of LCD is not working.

This SDK has some example application "Touch" which has few touch console games (Qt based), when this "Touch" app is run, the touch interface of LCD works else by default if I have to choose any other icons/ apps on its main "Matrix GUI" home view , I have to take its Remote Matrix display on my host system (via IP; Ethernet interface) and use it.

How to enable this touch interface with processor in some way in its default working mode (I2C interface between touch and processor)..?

Hi Dhara,

Maybe this is a matter of calibrating your touch screen. The first time you boot your board, you should be asked to calibrate your screen.
If not, can you try running weston-calibrator from the console?
You should see a red cross, which you need to touch, so that the kernel can take the display dimensions & configure touch coordinates.

Hi,

There no weston-calibrator option or app in my EVM. I have this "ws-calibrate.rules" in "/etc/udev/rules.d/" and "/run/media/mmcblk0p1/" path and I referred this link to calibrate the LCD.
