Hi Team,

I still have an issue with C6746, I produce additional 5 boards in other CM and after the boards work 3 boards stop working in JTAG so I must need your help again.

In the past TI reviewed the schematic completed and nothing help, did you available for conference call today or tomorrow to review what can be the problem? I think about few problems but need TI help to understand what can be the problem.

Unfortunately if you do not have TI local field assigned to work with you, the way to engage ti on support would be via E2E.
We will not be to facilitate calls directly .
I do not see any previous threads on this, so can you please explain your issue and testing / observations in further detail on this thread so we can further help you.

From a very high level it looks like you do not have time 0 failures, but the boards fail to work after some time/testing - it may point to some issues on your board design, EOS type failures and it would be good if you can provide details on what kind of testing you are exposing these boards too prior to them stop working.

Please also ensure you have looked the schematic checklist

Please provide relevant details so that we can attempt to isolate potential issues.

DSP JTAG signal comparison.pdfHi Mukul,

I have 25 cards based on the TMS320C6746 DSP and all of them are experiencing problems with the connection to the JTAG
Please see attached the error I getting and some debug results

I debugging this problem for almost 2 month with no success, as you understand this puts my in a very difficult state of uncertainty and I cannot proceed and manufacture more cards until I fix it.

Please allocate ASAP an application engineer with knowledge of this device and mainly the connection and circuitry of the JTAG to assist my in this issue

This is a top priority issue for my and I will be available to have a call or provide any additional information at any time

Thanks for sharing additional information on this.
Can you share the schematic of the JTAG portion of your device and have compared it with the c6748 LCDK schematic and layout?

If you have been debugging this for a while, you may have already seen the helper wikis on ti wiki, but the error code you have sounds similar to the what is listed here

Looking at the information on the wiki what do you think is happening , is it a hard fail or or do you think there is some noise problem?
Can you try to reduce the TCK frequency

Additionally it would be good to clarify
1) What version of CCS you are using.
2) While i do not think this should make a difference, your configuration seems to be for c6747 , can you find the right emulation configuration for c6746 - the closest should be one for c6748 or c6748 LCDK.

1) I have located your schematics, and will ask the schematic reviewer to check both of these posts and compare to the inputs previously provided on the schematic review to see if we can find something.
2) On the other post, i see that your design is very unique and small form factor. There were a few suggestions made by my colleague on testing a few more things to isolate the issue - i do not see an update to that post - can you please share the outcome from those recommended tests
3) Please see if reducing the TCLK helps and allows you to connect to jtag...
you will see another post from a different device, but has similar recommendation on debug from emulation team

Which tests are those? I performed all the recommended tests at the topic except the last: "The point of this exercise is to determine the contributing factors to the yellow hue problem. Please rework one of these boards to operate with the bench supplies to see if this resolves the reported problem." But now the yellow hue seems to disappear from our caring. Because last batch of 5 boards - no one of them didn't had the yellow hue problem. But all 5 failed at JTAG connectivity.

Ok, thanks for the additional clarifications.
I see that there is progress and additional Q&A on the older thread

So we will monitor that thread to see what updates you have from additional experiments on making JTAG IOs more stable , if the previous test setup was causing IO damage etc.
