DRA712: Does TI Android BSP use Neon for MP3 decode?

My customer is using Android standard audio Codec to decode an MP3 file from a USB stick. This task is using 17% of the CPU (@600Mhz).

They are TI's Android 6AM.1.3.

Does this implementation use NEON for assisting the audio decod? If not, what does customer has to do in order to use NEON coprocessor?

If it's not possible to use NEON, Is there any TI MP3 coded implementation optimized for DRA712?

Our TI DRA7 Android releases use only the audio decoders (and encoders) providers by Google/Android. We don't have optimized versions.

Misael, can TI provide any MP3 decode algorithm capable of running in Neon? If not, what is the best way for customer to be able to use the NEON core to offload the main processor?

No, at least not directly from TI. I'm aware of a third party providing optimizations to a customer algorithm using Neon, though not in the context of MP3 decoding, but filtering.
