Need help: Problem with DVSDK encode demo？

Dear all:

We are using TLV320ADC23B with DM365 and using the DVSDK_2_10_00_17 for development.

When running the encode demo in dvsdk, we found an error :

root@DVS365:/opt/dm365# ./encode -s test.g711
Encode demo started.
Error: Failed to create speech device

The audio codec in EVMDM365 is TLV320ADC3101, so does that difference matter? If so,

do I need to change the audio driver in Linux?

Hello,

Yes, you need to make sure the device driver works with your your audio codec, the error you get is because the device driver couldn't be found. The encode demo is not an ideal application for debugging your device driver, the PSP release comes with example applications which are lower level and better suited.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. We downloaded the PSP examples, it seems that there was no test application for audio driver. Could you pls tell me which one is suit for the test/

Hello,

You can find many alsa audio examples on the Internet, e.g arecord http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php/Arecord, a popular recording app from alsa utils. And similary aplay for playback raw or wav file . IIRC these alsa utils are already installed on MV target file system. And you can download the sources from here http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Download
