TDA3: Synchronize sensor and display with external sensor trigger

Hello,

I am working on a custom board with TDA3 and UB960 deserializer, connected to the OV10640 sensor via UB953 serializer. The framerate of the sensor is asynchron to the display framerate and is drifting apart, so buffer overflow or underflow occurs periodically after few seconds.

Now I want synchronize sensor and display with external sensor triggering. I am considering that the display is the master, so VSYNC or DSS-IRQ-event could be a source for the sensor trigger signal.

Is it possible to use the DSS-IRQ-event to drive e.g. a timer with GPIO output to generate a narrow positive trigger puls?

Is there another solution to synchronize sensor and display?

Hi Milan,

We have few ideas to synchronize display and capture vsync. we could discuss them on the call.

But Why do you see underflow/overflow? Aren't you providing enough buffer to the capture and display driver? Are you getting these underflow/overflow events from the hardware?
