Linux/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: How to use script setup.sh in the SDK to set up beaglebone balck

I have been using image from beaglebone.org for my beaglebone black. But now I want to try stuff like building the u-boot and kernel so I try the TI SDK.

My question is: I have download the SDK from "http://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux-rt/esd/AM335X/latest/index_FDS.html" . I directly start using the "create_sdcard.sh" to format the SD card and install the pre-built image, when I put it to the BBB, it boots. However, the display shows nothing and it is black showing text "please wait.." and nothing happens then.

I google a bit and said that I need to run "setup.sh" to further configure BBB. I wonder when should I run this script? From here "http://elinux.org/Beagleboard:3.2_SDK_On_BeagleBone_Black

Hello Peilang,

You have to enter these settings.

You can find the u-boot and kernel rebuilding steps at the getting started guide.

Thank you for the link for the display. It works.

Now my issue is I have a SD card created by the "create_sdcard.sh", with pre-built image. Then I connect the router and FTDI cable to BBB and boot the BBB. Then I run the "setup.sh" in my Linux host. I have the kernel and root file system installed in my Linux host, not the SD card during the setup. Then I reboot the BBB and it seems nothing happens.

my question is what the "setup.sh" is doing for my BBB? Should I run "create_sdcard.sh" again to install what I just get from the "setup.sh" script?

You need to have a MLO and u-boot.img in the SD card. Only the rootfs will function over the NFS. Please, check this wiki page and this post too.
