Linux/AM3357: eth0 to be work properly

Part Number: AM3357

Tool/software: Linux

Hello Sir,

we have am3357 base custom board and we have ported linux (TI SDK 3.03.00.04) to it. Now the problem is we are able to bring up the ethernet interface eth0 up. But is not pinging once it wake up while boot up, we have to switch it off and on with the commands "ifconfig eth0 down" and "ifconfig eth0 up" then only it will work or else it will not ping. how can we resolve this issue.

Regards,

Sachin

  • Hi Sachin,

Not sure what your hardware is & what modifications you've made. Could you provide more details (what is different in your board and what have you modified in the linux kernel?)?

The easiest way I can think of (without having to modify your kernel) is to create an init script (or systemd service), which disables/enables the eth port while your device is booting (upon loading the filesystem) and this way you will have your port working by the time linux boots up to user space.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
