Hello,

I'm using beagle bone black board for my development, i have booting requirement like 1st option USB, 2nd is NAND flash.

I have the below queries:

1). To do the USB 1st boot option, the USB configuration should be device/host mode?

2). If i required more than one host, i will connect a hub in to USB host available in to P3 in BBB board, their can i use one for USB booting other for application use? Can i use in this configuration the USB booting?

Thanks,

Shekar

  • Hi,

I suggest you carefully check Section 33.3.5 Peripheral Booting, text & sections after Figure 33-11. Synchronization Phase for USB from the TRM.

2). If i required more than one host, i will connect a hub in to USB host available in to P3 in BBB board, their can i use one for USB booting other for application use? Can i use in this configuration the USB booting?

If I understand correctly you want to cnnect USB hub on USB1 in BBB board and use different ports of those hub for booting & other purpose at the same time, right? If yes, then I'd advise NOT to do this. Per my understanding this is not possible.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
