can I connect a camera sensor to the DM6467 evaluation board?

Hello

Does the DM6467 evaluation board has a connector to connect a camera sensor chip?

I would like to connect the LI-3M01 (https://www.leopardimaging.com/3M_HD_Camera_Board.html) from Leopard iMaging Inc.

Is there a way to do this? It's ok if I have to make a little asapter board.

If not, can it be done using the DM6446 evaluation board?

Thanks

You would have to make an adapter for that camera board to connect to the DM6467 EVM, the connectors are certainly different. Beyond that there would be significant driver changes to be made in the software, since the DM6467 does not have the same video port hardware as a DM6446.

The DM6446 EVM would be a more direct connection, no need for adapters, you can even see the camera board connected to a DM6446 EVM board in the picture on the LI site you linked.

Will this be a passive adapter? Is there a suitable connector on the evaluation board that can be used to connect a sensor (like LI-3M01 board)?

But that is a board from Spectrum Digital, not TI. Or are they the same?? (The Spectrum Digital evaluation board is half the price).

  • TI does not really manufacture any of the Davinci evaluation boards, they are generally built by third parties, one of the major ones being Spectrum Digital.

It should be passive, it looks like everything is pinned out on DC_P2, you can find details including schematics on the DM6467 EVM (as well as the DM6446 EVM) through the Spectrum Digital support site.

They are the same board, however the one from Spectrum Digital is just the board whereas the one for sale from the TI E-Store is a full kit including camera, monitor, microphone, and the software on CDs (though this can be downloaded).
