Hi,

EVM: GP EVMAM572x

OS: TIRTOS (pdk_am57xx_1_0_5)

Can i modify PRUSS_BasicExample_idkAM572x_wSoCLib_armTestproject project for reading R31 register to read the pr1_pru0_gpi13 data.

How do i read R31 register (PRU0 Register R31 Inputs), what are the PRU LLD API i need to use?

I tried modifying PRUSS_BasicExample_idkAM572x_wSoCLib_armTestproject, by adding following code.

volatile char shared_buf[100] __attribute__((cregister("EXT_MEM")));
int local_data;
volatile register unsigned int __R31;

while((__R31 & (1<<13)) == 0){
}

but it is giving me compilation error for __R31.
Do I need to include some files to read R31 reg or as Melissa said i need to write a assembly code to integrated into TI RTOS projects.

Hi,

I tried testing some lab examples of pru.

I found that i need to load program in each core independently and run.

Same thing i need to do with program running in ARM cortex a15 with TI RTOS and program in PRU as a bare metal?

Anjana,

This is true - there is no OS running on PRU. If needed, you can develop an own micro-scheduler for multiple functions. The PRU firmware will be loaded by the PRUSS driver API as demo-ed in the PRUSS_BasicExample_idkAM572x_wSoCLib_armTestproject.
